Sandeep Naik ahead to solve Water crisis.

Last Week, queues near water tanks were a common sight in the city. This week also, chances are that on Friday and Saturday, water supply in parts of Vashi up till Airoli will be limited.
To solve the water supply problem, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) delegates met the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) water supply department and other concerned Authorities on Thursday,
After listening to the Problems narrated by the corporators of the affected areas, standing committee chairman Sandeep Naik requested NMMC officials to seal water tanks that were charging monery. Besides this , Naik asked NMMC to take into account the water crisis seriously, as it could lead to a problem of law and order in the area.
Replying to queries of Naik in the meeting, NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata Said, “ On Thursday, we are meeting the MIDC CEO to find some solutions. Besides this, we are planning to make some alternatives arrangements for providing relief to the residents.”
MIDC is facing a water crisis, as their water reservoir, Barve dam is getting dried up. The water in the dam is insufficient for nodes, like Vashi, Kopar-khairane, Ghansoli, Airoli, and Digha, MIDC Supplies 130 MLD water to Navi Mumbai. At present, there is around 20-25 percent water shortage, out of 130 MLD, less than 80 MLD water has been supplied.
